OX SERIES OXYGEN ANALYZER

The OX series oxygen analyzers allow measuring efficiently and accurately the residual oxygen concentration in gas mixtures. The OX analyzers are reliable, easy to use and robust.

A big variety of oxygen analyzers can be found on the market, but it is actually difficult to find the quality and precision that characterise OX analyzers, without spending more.

Two different models of oxygen analyzers RGI OX-01 and RGI OX-02 are manufactured by RGI and they are both equipped with two-decimal resolution display.

In addition, two different versions are produced which can be more or less equipped:

  1. RGI OX-01 is a high-precision oxygen analyzer equipped with power supply and a 10-mm tubes input.
  2. RGI OX-01USB is very similar to the OX-01 and is provided with an internal rechargeable battery that allows using it for about 30 days without having to be connected to an electrical socket. It is equipped with a frontal USB port where it is possible to connect the supplied datalogger in order to store the data about the oxygen concentration profile. Two LEDs, located on the datalogger, provide information about some of the alarms and the operation. The software for the data management is supplied with the analyzer.
  3. RGI OX-02 is a high-precision oxygen analyzer that can be distinguished from 01 models because of it allows checking simultaneously the percentage of analyzed oxygen, the temperature and the relative humidity. It is provided with a rechargeable battery that lasts about 60 days. Similarly to RGI OX-01USB, it permits to store the data regarding the oxygen concentration profiles, moreover the temperature and relative humidity data can also be stored. The data will be stored in a provided memory stick. The software for the data management is supplied with the analyzer.
  4. RGI OX-02WIFI, very similar to the OX-02 model, is equipped with a Wi-Fi device allowing to connect it to a computer, controlling and storing the data online. It is possible to manage up to 16 analyzers at the same time through the provided software. 

All the models are equipped with a two-decimal resolution LCD display; in addition OX models have a reset button that is very useful when it is wanted to measure different environments rapidly.

The maintenance consists simply in replacing the electrochemical sensor, which is the most sensitive part of the analyzer. These sensors tend to wear out naturally; in particular the one provided by RGI can last up to 24 months.

The OX analyzer series are manufactured and sold by RGI and consequently customer assistance is directly provided by our technicians in a very short time.   

 

HOW OX SERIES WAS DEVISED

The VELOXY® System is the most well-know and appreciated RGI technology. The VELOXY® was developed by RGI bioSteryl Tech from 1994 to 1996 in order to prevent biological damages in conservation of cultural heritage institutes using the anoxic nitro-based disinfestations in modified atmospheres method, which allows eliminating parasitic organisms by keeping artworks in oxygen-free environments for few weeks, i.e. in oxygen concentrations less to 0.2-0.3%.

The VELOXY® System and its related operational protocols are the results of a project research coordinated by RGI. Moreover it is the only method that was scientifically certified in laboratory.

Therefore, it can be easily understood the importance of measuring the oxygen concentration correctly and precisely. In fact, a slight mistake can strictly compromise an anoxic treatment: e.g. it can be measured an oxygen concentration of 0.2-0.3% while the actual concentration may be 0.4%. That entailed the decision to design, develop and manufacture a high quality oxygen analyzer, robust and with a high reading accuracy. Moreover it had also to be evaluated whether integrates the analyzer with the VELOXY® System with an analyzer or manufactures it independently.

Eventually, it was decided to produce not integrated analyzers for the following reasons:

  1. The electrochemical sensor, which is the heart of analyzers, has a relative long life (up to 2.5-3 years), but still limited. Whereas the VELOXY® has to last longer without replacing such important components, especially if that would be charged to customers.
  2. It would have been even more difficult replacing an oxygen analyzer in a VELOXY® that is used by a distant customer. In fact, it must be considered that VELOXY ® Systems is spread from Canada to Oman.
  3. Considering the importance of measuring the oxygen concentration properly, the customer must be able to monitoring the different parameters of the anoxic treatment autonomously. Moreover, it may also be needed to use some oxygen analyzers simultaneously, for example when using gastight tents or large enclosures.

The OX analyzers were designed as an external VELOXY® accessory but they have begun being required by customers. Currently OX analyzers can be bought separately from the VELOXY®.
